How do we begin the process of being ourselves? I mean really breaking open to the core of our true self. How do we remove the masks that we wear on a day to day basis? Usually these masks consist of the fears of:
- What other people think
- How we think we should be
- What other people perceive us to be
How do we let go of the false self? Are we really who our parents, our families, our teachers told us we were? I find that there is a gnawing at the depths of us beckoning us to be who we were meant to be. But sometimes it can be so darn difficult to take the plunge. We know when we do so-- things will never be the same again. It takes courage to take a stand and invoke the inner wild woman/man and claim our freedom. I think that we forget that passion is our birthright. On the other hand, it takes a lot of energy to keep the masks in place but we are so used to doing this. We have become complacent.
We all have different ways to get in touch with ourselves and listen to the call of our inner spirit. Personally, I like to blindfold myself and do trance dancing in my living room. Oh yeah, this hypno-chick is really a Freaky Freakerson. Trance dancing is free form movement with breathing that allows you to be free of the limited patterns and constrictions that hold our minds in rigid limited thinking. It actually puts you in the same state that hypnosis does. It literally moves us into an altered state of consciousness. There is no wrong way to do it. Essentially, you are letting go of your head and beginning the process of healing. What do you do to ignite your inner passion? Passion is usually repressed and experienced by many only through sexuality. What I mean by passion is a true lust for life. How do you get in touch with the fire within?
Till next time.
